Biomedical research groups at the University of Greifswald carry out experiments involving vertebrate animals. The university has an animal welfare officer (Dr. med. vet. Sabine Berg) and a vice animal welfare officer (Dr. rer. nat. Christian Müller) who supervise animal experimentation, take care that all regulations are considered and reporting duties are fulfilled by the researchers and provide advice to animal experimenters.
